Why Young Living?
Let's just say, I didn't start using Young Living right away. I began my oily journey with my oldest daughter, Eden.
Well, that's good question! So, it all started when my oldest daughter, Eden was about 6 years old and she had her first experience of a nosebleed. They were controlled in the beginning, but eventually they lasted a few hours until they would stop at each onset. They got so bad that she started bleeding from her eyes, ears and even threw up the swallowed blood. It was not only horrible but traumatizing for both her and I. We went to a nose specialist and after several visits, they decided to cauterize her nose. After the surgery, I was so happy that they actually stopped...for about six months...until she started to get them once again! To the same extent as the ones before. I felt helpless!
One evening, I was at a friends house when Eden got another nosebleed. As I began to vent to her about how bad they would get, she mildly suggested I try using essential oils. I was a little skeptical but really, I was willing to try anything at his point. She let me look through her drawer filled with oils as well as a book she had. As I did a little reading, I blended a few drops from different ones it suggested for blood control and to my surprise, it helped slow down the blood loss! I...was...intrigued. I went home and decided to look into these therapeutic natural compounds. After hours and hours of research, I found great tips and came across different essential oils that were suggested to stop nosebleeds. I decided to purchase some supplies, mix them up (with trial and error runs) and came up with what I like to call “Eden’s nose balm”. This balm came in handy when she got more of those nasty nosebleeds. We would control them as best possible and would immediately rub the balm on her nose. Finally, something helped! Low and behold...I was sold on these wonderful oils! Now THAT was the start of a beautiful relationship! {Huge Grin}
Over the next five years, I added many different essential oils as well as different brands and experimented in making lip balms, hand creams, pain creams, and even cleaning products. Overall, I was very happy with the results, but I did notice that some products I made came out with different results. Some lasted longer while some didn’t do anything to help aid in what I was hoping to accomplish, which made me wonder why was the outcome different if I was using the same measurements and same kind (different brands) of essential oil? I inquired some more and I found out that not all oils are the same in quality. I don’t know why it surprised me, but it did?! Of course! Just like any other product out there, each brand is different, so the same goes for essential oils. I looked up many different brands and reviews and after seven long months of further research, I decided to give Young Living a try. So, I placed my starter kit order and waited anxiously for the arrival. The day before I received it, I was out in the sun too long and ended up with a major sunburn on my chest. I tried sunburn cream and it didn’t help ease the pain. So, I decided to make a mix using essential oils I already had. Well....that didn’t work either! That night I could not sleep. My chest was itchy and extremely hot. The next day I received my package and figured I’d give the sunburn mix recipe a try again using YL oils instead. I put it on immediately and at first, it didn’t stop the itching/burning right away, but I did notice that a tingly sensation was happening while it was itching/burning. I was a little confused, yet I waited to see if anything else happened. I would say about 30 minutes later, I felt relief and the pain/itching was finally gone! That night I slept great. {Big Smile} So here we are now. A believer of essential oils and their great benefits, but more-so, a strong believer that Young Living is a better quality brand than any other. Since this is my personal opinion, now it’s your turn to try them and see for yourself!
