Aromatic Tips
Ultrasonic Diffuser Tips:
1. Begin by using a few drops of essential oil per diffusing session until you have a better sense of how much oil you need to add to adequately fill your space with fragrance. Keep in mind that the amount of oil drops you use should depend on the oil you use, the room and the purpose. Since aromatic oils can oxidize quite fast, the best way to enjoy their full potential is to add them fresh each time.
2. Follow the cleaning instructions that come with your diffuser. Keeping a clean diffuser will result in more effective scent diffusion and will help keep your device working for the long haul. A small tidbit: Mold is known to start growing within 24-48 hours so keeping it clean when it is not running is very important.
3. Do not directly inhale the mist from an ultrasonic diffuser. If we happen to drink slightly contaminated water, our stomach has a chance of destroying the unwelcome substance, but the body doesn’t have the same defenses if bacteria-laden water is inhaled through the nose. (If you plan to directly inhale the pure essential oil mist created by a nebulizing diffuser, be sure to consult with an aromatherapist or naturopath before self-treating.)
4. Do not leave the diffuser running on all night, unless you have one with an automatic shut-off. Even then, being cautious is important.
Note: Humidifiers should not be substituted in place of a Diffuser. Not only can the essential oils break the machine but they do not work properly with the essential oils.
